Quarterfinal schedule set

NORTH BAY, Ont. — The North Bay Battalion will open its best-of-seven Eastern Conference quarterfinal series against the Mississauga Steelheads at home at 7 p.m. Friday, the Ontario Hockey League club announced Sunday.

The Battalion finished first in the Central Division and second in the conference, while Mississauga was fourth in the division and seventh in the conference.

The clubs meet in the playoffs for the first time since the Battalion relocated to North Bay from Brampton in 2013. Before that, they met three times, all conference semifinals, with the Steelheads in previous incarnations. The Toronto St. Michael’s Majors defeated the Battalion in five games in both 2003 and 2004 before Brampton bested the Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors in six games in 2009.

Friday, March 31, at North Bay 7 p.m.
Sunday, April 2, at North Bay 2 p.m.
Tuesday, April 4, at Mississauga 7 p.m.
Wednesday, April 5 at Mississauga 7 p.m.
