Errol Hook


Errol Hook joined the Battalion’s scouting staff in 2004 and was named Director of Scouting in September 2015.

Hook, who has been a scout for more than 20 years, spent six years as a coach of midget AAA teams in Toronto and Richmond Hill before moving on to the Ryerson University hockey team where he spent three years as an assistant coach. He was the head coach of the junior B King City Dukes for two seasons and spent five years coaching at the bantam and midget levels with the Toronto Young Nats.

Hook joined the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds as an area scout under general manager Dave Mayville in 1995, and served as the club’s director of scouting for two years starting in 2000. In that position he was responsible for choosing future NHL stars Jeff Carter, Trevor Daley and Ray Emery.

Hook, who is retired from the Ontario College of Teachers, resides in Stouffville with his wife.
